Dr. L. Andal, B.E., M.E., Ph.D., is Professor and Head of Department of Civil Engineering, R.M.K. Engineering College since July 2025 with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Structural analysis and design, steel structures and concrete technology. She has more than 30 years of teaching and industrial experience. She has obtained her B.E. in Civil Engineering, from Thiagarajar college of Engineering, M.E. in Structural Engineering from Thiagarajar college of Engineering and PhD from the faculty of Civil Engineering, Anna University, Chennai.
She has guided a number of Under Graduate projects & Post Graduate and guiding Ph.D scholars. She has received funding from various funding agencies DST-DDP, AICTE-MODROB, etc,. She has published her research findings in National and International Journals. She has attended many International and National Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. She has been certified with Elite Grade as topper for two online courses by NPTEL. She has received so many awards and accolades.
She is reviewer for many International Journals published by Elsevier and Springer publishers and has been a member of Editorial Board for various journals. She has authored many text books in Civil Engineering and has been a reviewer for many text books for various publishers. She is a Recognized Research Supervisor of Anna University. She is a fellow of Institution of Engineers (I) and life member of various professional societies like Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), and Indian Concrete Institute (ICI).
