Dr. S. Asokkumar is an accomplished academician, researcher, administrator, and entrepreneurship mentor with over 30 years of professional experience, including 22 years in higher education and 8 years in the software industry. He is currently serving as Professor and Head, Department of Management Studies at R.M.K. Engineering College (Autonomous), Chennai.
He holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management, an MBA (HRM), an M.Tech. in Information Technology, a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, and a Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, enabling him to integrate management, information technology, artificial intelligence, and data analytics into teaching and research.
As a recognized research supervisor under Anna University, Dr. Asokkumar has successfully guided 6 Ph.D. scholars, is currently supervising 4 doctoral researchers, and has mentored more than 550 MBA and 22 M.Phil. students. He has also served as an External Examiner for several Ph.D. viva voce examinations.
His research interests include Human Resource Management, Artificial Intelligence Applications, Data Mining, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Healthcare Analytics, and Digital Transformation. He has published 20+ research papers in reputed Scopus, UGC-CARE, and peer-reviewed journals, authored two books, and contributed as a Guest Editor for leading management journals. He has also published patents through the AICTE KAPILA Scheme.
Dr. Asokkumar has demonstrated outstanding academic leadership by serving as Chairman of the Board of Studies, Head of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Placement Training Coordinator, and Convener/Organizing Secretary for six International Conferences. Under his leadership, the EDC trained 170 student entrepreneurs, with 30 students successfully launching startups.
Internationally, he has served as a Scientific Committee Member for the Brand Strategy Conferences held in Tehran, Iran, contributed to the VCIRS International Conference in Sri Lanka, and currently serves as an Academic Resource Person at the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. His consultancy expertise has also resulted in successfully executing industry consultancy assignments.
His academic excellence has been recognized through the prestigious “Noble Researcher Award – 2018” by IJRULA International, Malaysia. He continuously upgrades his expertise through NPTEL certifications in Big Data Computing, Data Mining, AI in Human Resource Management, Outcome-Based Education, and Professional Communication.
Dr. Asokkumar strongly believes in interdisciplinary research, innovation, entrepreneurship, ethical leadership, and industry-academia collaboration, with a vision to prepare globally competent professionals capable of addressing contemporary business and societal challenges.
