
Dr. Y. Sukhi
M.E., Ph.D.,Dr. Sukhi completed her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli, in 1993. She obtained her Master’s degree in Mechatronics from the Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, in 2000, and earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2010.
Her professional career began as an Assistant Engineer at Raja Rao Electrical Consultant from 1993 to 1994. She then served as a Lecturer at Bharath Engineering College from 1995 to 1997. Since 1997, she has been associated with R.M.K. Engineering College, where she currently holds the position of Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Her areas of interest include the analysis of power converters, solid-state drives, and the application of optimization techniques in power electronic converter systems. She has published more than 100 research papers in reputed national and international journals. Her research work has been supported by funding agencies, including two projects sponsored by the MHRD, Government of India, and one by the Institution of Engineers (India).
She has organized academic programs, like AICTE-sponsored National Level Short-Term Training Program, CSIR-sponsored National Conference, and Faculty Development Training Program sponsored by Anna University. She holds two granted patents and has ten additional published patents. Six Ph.D. scholars have completed their doctorates under her guidance. She is currently guiding five Ph.D. scholars at Anna University.
In recognition of her contributions, she has received numerous accolades, including the Best Woman Engineer Award from the Institution of Engineers (India).
