The Dean – Academics
Dr. S. Pavai Madheswari is an accomplished academician with over three decades of teaching experience in Engineering colleges. She is currently serving as Dean – Academics at R.M.K. Engineering College, contributing to academic leadership, quality enhancement, and the continuous development of teaching and learning practices.
A passionate learner and educator, Dr. Pavai Madheswari holds academic qualifications across Mathematics and Computer Science and Engineering. She completed her B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Madras in 1986, M.Sc. in Mathematics from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in 1988, and M.Phil. in Mathematics from the College of Engineering, Anna University, in 1990. She subsequently obtained her Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Dr. M.G.R. University, Chennai, and her Ph.D. in Mathematics (Stochastic Processes) from Anna University, Chennai, in 2004.
Her research contributions include 41 journal publications, with an H-index of 14 and an i10-index of 15. She was awarded the CSIR–UGC Junior Research Fellowship during 1989–1991. She has guided six scholars to successful completion of their doctoral degrees. Her research interests include Retrial Queueing Models, Discrete-Time Queues, and their applications to Communication Systems and Wireless Sensor Networks.
Her contributions to teaching and academic service have been recognised through several honours. She received the ISTE Periyar Award for Best Engineering College Teacher in 2021. She was also honoured with the Best Faculty Award by Cognizant for outstanding performance in 2015–16. In recognition of her sustained contribution and dedicated service to R.M.K. Engineering College for more than two decades, the alumni of RMKEC conferred on her the Service Excellence Award in 2017.
Beyond her academic and research accomplishments, Dr. Pavai Madheswari is deeply committed to continuous learning, academic excellence, and the holistic development of students and faculty. Her journey reflects a sustained commitment to education, leadership, and the pursuit of knowledge.
