“Make in India”, “Digital India” and “Startup India” are the initiatives of our Honorable Prime Minister to make India a global manufacturing hub. All these Initiatives are in tune with global Industrial revolution that has brought in the concept of “Cyber Physical System” that integrated all aspects of computing, communication and physical processes. Key technologies like Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Digital Manufacturing aided by New Product Development through effective incorporation of Product Lifecycle Management have become the pillars of the Industry 4.0 initiative to make manufacturing more efficient, flexible,sustainable and collaborative with cost competitiveness

“Smart Factory” is the future of manufacturing in which cyber-physical systems monitor the physical processes of the factory and make decentralized decisions. The physical systems become Internet of Things, communicating and cooperating both with each other and with humans in real time via the wireless web. There has never been such interplay of emerging technologies running across disciplines as is being seen today. The complexity of this interplay demands a creation of awareness of the latest trends and developments in the related areas and a positive exchange of ideas and knowledge to further the objectives.

The forthcoming one day International Conference, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering & Information Technology, R.M.K. Engineering College in collaboration with ICT Academy, aims to provide the platform for such sharing of knowledge and exchange of ideas, through Plenary Talks, Presentation of Technical papers, discussions on best practices, exhibition of related technologies and panel discussion for laying the roadmap.International and Indian participants from industry and academia would be deliberating on the issues. The venue would be R.M.K. Engineering College, Kavaraipettai, near Chennai, India.
