Our IBM Connect

In continuation with the MoU signed on 8th June, 2009, with IBM India Pvt. Ltd., R. M. K. Engineering College has been identified as the “Center of Excellence” with the objective of imparting technical knowledge for the benefit of the students by conducting various courses. Shri. Himanshu Goyal, Country Manager, IBM Academic Initiative, inaugurated the Center of Excellence in the college premises on Friday, 28th August 2009.

As a beginning, the faculty were trained on DB2 and they have been duly certified as “IBM Certified Database Associate in DB2 9 Fundamentals“. In the month of October, 2009 the faculty was trained in Rational Application Developer (RAD) and they have been duly certified. In the month of July 2010, faculty was trained in Tivoli Directory Server and they have been duly certified.

The faculty who have been trained in DB2, RAD and Tivoli conducts the training for B.Tech(IT), B.E(CSE), and MCA students. After training the students go for the certification exam. This certification would help a candidate to make him/herself become eligible to register and participate in job placements at IBM and its business partners.
